Planetary role in Indian Vedic Astrology.

Nine Planets are considered in Hindu Astrology, in the Birth Chart or Horoscope, which are Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu (Dragons Head) and Ketu (Dragons Tail).

According to Siddhantas in Hindu Vedic Astrology, Saturn is most distant planet from Earth. Then after wards, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury and the Moon, come next, in the order of their distance, from Earth. Based on this criteria, the ruler ships are allotted to each of the above Planets.

Accordingly, Aries and Scorpio are ruled by Mars. Venus rules Taurus and Libra. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. The Moon owns Cancer. Sun happens to be lord of Leo. Jupiter governs Pisces and Sagittarius. Capricorn and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn. Leo and Ketu rule Scorpio. Rahu owns Leo and Ketu rules Scorpio.

Planets are classified Benefic and Malefic. According to their inherent nature, they do good or evil, to the native, during his life time.

HOROSCOPE A VITAL CHART

Vedic Astrology has existed for centuries in India. It has relevance to Astronomy. Natal Astrological Chart, is erected with "Sun" arbitrarily placed on as Ascendent. The Eastern horizon, and 12 solar houses, are calculated uniformly (equal house system), from that position and other Planets are accordingly placed in the Birth Chart of the native born. Essentials for erecting Natal Chart, is the precision time element, namely, date of birth, time of birth and place of birth.

The birth Chart is the mother chart, from which various astrological delineations are possible, based on dictum s in the Classical works, crafted by Hindu sages.
